For this project, we were tasked with finding a file of an object that we could cut out on cardboard and eventually put together. I really didn't know what I wanted to do so I looked on thing verse until I found this template for an X-Wing and a Tie-Fighter from star wars.
Once I decided that I wanted to use this file, I had to transport it to inventor in order to prepare to get it cut out by the laser. I had to make sure that certain lines were colored black and that certain lines were colored red to let the laser know which lines to cut out.
The other cardboard project that we had to do was to create a design for notebook. At first I didn't know what I wanted to do so I researched a little. I then realized that I would be using this in school so I decided to make it Waunakee themed. Here is a logo that I used on my final design.
This is what my final design for my notebook looked like. I tried to match the theme with the Waunakee logo. I also added my name to make sure I don't loose it.
In this section of Idea class, I learned that Illustrator can be a very versatile program. Not only can you create logos, you can also create designs and blueprints for items that you want to be cut out by a laser.
